Sessions will be moderated by;

  • Caroline Bovey, Lead Public Health Dietitian in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Honorary Role – Chair of BDA Wales Board , BDA Trade Union Representative.

Profile – Caroline has been Lead Public Health Dietitian for 12 years and has an MA in post compulsory education and training and is particularly interested in the context in which education happens for adult learners. Caroline aims to promote Dietitians as the expert voice on Nutrition within Wales, to provide representation on external bodies and committees and to identify and respond to opportunities for the profession which can influence key policy and decisions in Welsh Government. 

Caroline will be moderating the opening plenary session ‘The Future: Transforming Care’ being held on day two.

  •  Steven Grayston, Assistant Area Director of Therapy Services (East), Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB)

Honorary Role – Chair of BDA Professional Practice Board.

Profile – Steven has been based in North Wales his entire career from student right through to manger, and from 2015 he was appointed to an Assistant Area Director post for Therapy Services. His clinical background is paediatrics and although he is not practicing clinically at the moment this is something that he is keen to resolve . Steven had his mind set on being a Dietitian from the age of 14, having a keen interest in food and science at the time; he read the careers information and that was that. Steven has had a role at the BDA as Chair of the Professional Practice Board for the last 4 years and has been involved in various BDA projects prior to that. He has a keen interest in professional development and wants to ensure that the skills of Dietitian’s are recognized and utilized to the maximum potential they can be.

Steven will be moderating the closing plenary session ‘The latest insights into safe practice’ being held on day two.

  • Pauline Mulholland MBE, Lead Dietitian, South Eastern Trust and BDA Honorary Treasurer

Honorary Role – BDA Honorary Treasurer, Fellow of the BDA

Profile – Pauline has been Lead Dietitian for 17 years.

Pauline will be moderating the opening plenary session ‘Malnutrition and dehydration: A priority throughout all stages of life being held on day one.
